Hurricane Sandy has passed Cuba, leaving some considerable damages which is still to be assessed particulary in the areas of Guantanamo and Santiago de Cuba. However, all Hurricane Watches and Warnings have been discontinued.

Sandy left into the sea at 06:00 in the vicinity of Cabo Lucrecia, in Holguin province (760km east of Havana), after moving for almost five hours over Cuba, said on television meteorologist Jose Rubiera, head of the INSMET forecasts. Cuban authorities have not reported major damage of victims by the passage of Sandy, that was moving with maximum sustained winds of 165 kmph (category 2 hurricane) and moves at about 30 KmPH, according ot the INSMET.
